For many of our customers it is difficult to estimate how large their storage space should be. Many overestimate the space they effectively need. If you calculate exactly and stack well, you can save a lot of space and money.

Our size guide helps you to determine the size of your storage box:

Important tips for selecting a storage box

Please note the following points when selecting your storage box:

In order to save space and money, you should stack and unscrew your things as much as possible.
Even your longest item must fit into the storage box: take a close look at the dimensions.
You need some space to move around in the storage box. If you want to be able to access your stuff on a regular basis, you should arrange your items accordingly.

Is the storage space you have rented too big or too small? No problem! With placeB you can flexibly change your booking. Just give us a call or a chat message and we will assign you another storage box.

You can also benefit from our 7-day cancellation period: If you cancel the contract within 7 days of booking, you will not be charged.

Tip: spread your items over two storage rooms

Sometimes it makes sense to rent several storage boxes. This has the following advantages:

Greater flexibility in storage size
Storage in steps and cost savings
More order and better overview in the inventory

The following guidelines will help you determine the appropriate size of your storage room:
- 5-6 moving boxes: 1m³
- Few pieces of furniture: 2-6m³
- 1 room: 7-10m³
- 2 room apartment: 11-16m³
- 3-room apartment: 14-22m³
- 4-room apartment: 20-30m³
- 5-room apartment: 25-40m³
If you also have a balcony and a cellar, you need a little more space.
What do I need to consider for a storage room? ›

Pay attention to the length, width and height of your storage space. Even your longest item must fit into the storage box. To save space, you may want to put it upright.

Whenever possible, unscrew and stack your items. Also, consider if you will need access to your items during storage. If so, you'll need to allow some space in the storage room for a small aisle so you can reach all the items and move boxes.
Is one large storage room cheaper than several small storage rooms? ›

At placeB you pay the same for several small storage rooms as for one large storage compartment. Several small storage boxes have the advantage that you can better organize your things and keep a better overview.
