Of course, there are always a few things that travel along on these holidays: the summer wardrobe and accompanying equipment for the kids and adults alike. Storing summer clothes

Usually, the summer clothes must not be packed away immediately after returning home, as the mild summer days even in this country may still linger for a while. If the cooler days arrive earlier than expected, or if the bright holiday dress from Italy can only be warn there, you can store your summer wardrobe until the next summer holidays.

Before storing the clothes, be sure to wash them first. It is also important that the clothes are completely dry. If clothes are still damp when stored, they could become moldy.

• If clothes are kept for a short time, then simple cardboard boxes are sufficient for storage. If you are planning to store the clothes for a longer period, it is better to use more sturdy boxes. That way, the clothes will be free of dust and moisture.

Store the toys

The toys for playing in the sand or the funny things for splashing in the water can also travel along on the next summer vacation if they are carefully stowed away. Here too there are some things to keep in mind:

• As with storing clothes, similar rules apply here. Children's toys should be as clean and dry as possible before storing. First of all, wash the toys made from fabric and let them dry properly.
• Make sure you remove the batteries of battery-operated toys. If a battery leaks, the toy is no longer usable.
• Toys that could become scratched or are sensitive must be wrapped in paper or cloths.
• In general, it's best not to overfill the storage boxes. This will prevent toys from breaking and, in addition, light boxes will be easier to transport.
• Store the tent

Store the tent

• Tents should only be stored if they are clean and dry. If a residual moisture is present, e.g. in the form of condensation inside the tent, it could cause moldy spots to develop. Before packing tent in the protective cover, leave it out to dry for about a day or set it up leaving the doors open. This will allow residual moisture to evaporate.
  
• If the tent fabric is dirty, it should be cleaned with a soft brush or a damp cloth. It is important to use a mild detergent, which does not damage the fabric. Absolute DONT's when cleaning your tent: washing machine, aggressive cleaners and high-pressure cleaner.
